For the first time in 30 years, a new hotel opened in McMinnville when the Hampton Inn began accepting reservations on October 28.

The hotel, located on Sparta Street across from the hospital, represents an investment of $ 11.3 million, according to developer and owner David Hunt.

Our Hampton Inn has 73 rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a conference room and a spacious breakfast room with waffles among its morning dishes.

Hampton Inn is part of the Hilton chain, renowned for its excellence.

“The Hilton banner is what brings people back,” Hunt said. “When people stay here, they know they will have a safe, clean room at a reasonable price. Hilton brings people in religiously to do checks to make sure we are maintaining the high standards expected. “

Prior to the opening of Hampton Inn, McMinnville Inn on Sparta Street was the last new hotel to open in town. It was built in 1991.

Hunt says the Hampton Inn will allow McMinnville to entice many out-of-town visitors to stay overnight in this community.

“You would be amazed at how many people who visit McMinnville go to Manchester or Murfreesboro to spend the night,” Hunt said. “It will be a great thing for this city to keep them here.”

Guests of the Hampton Inn will be treated to luxury. Each room has its own microwave, refrigerator and a television that is at least 50 inches wide. The doors are heavy and very thick to act as a barrier to noise from the hallways. There are also thick walls to minimize noise from adjacent rooms.

“With the robotics center across the street and all the people in that district on business, I expect there will be a lot of customers staying multiple nights,” Hunt said. . “This is why I made the decision to have a microwave and a refrigerator in each room.”
