Timberline Health and Fitness will offer a fitness option for Rushville and beyond

By Scott Bidroski

As the calendar shifts to a new year, many people are making resolutions to improve their lives and their health.

And here in Rushville, Hannah Graham is putting another tool in the tool belt for citizens who want to improve their health and well-being.

Graham, who lives south of Rushville with his family, is scheduled to open Timberline Health and Fitness on January 15, 2022. The location of the fitness center is at 111 Loofbarrow Street in Rushville.

A health and fitness center wasn’t always the plan for Graham, but her love of running and working out led her back to an idea she had been floating around for some time.

“I had started chewing on this idea 5-6 years ago,” Graham said.

“I love working out and started thinking about it. This time the stars aligned and this building became available,” she added.

Graham is originally from south-central Minnesota, but while pursuing a career in social work, he interned at Red Cloud Indian School, just north of Pine Ridge, SD.

While here for the internship, she met her husband Luke, and the couple married and put down their roots in Sheridan County.

Graham is currently Director of Social Services and Finance at Parkview Lodge Assisted Living in Rushville in addition to owning Timberline.

She hopes to continue to have a positive impact on the community with the opening of this facility.

“The mission statement would be to manage a sustainable space for our citizens in our community and region to grow into themselves,” Graham said.

“A lot of times the fitness industries can fall into a toxic cycle, I don’t want that, I want people to find a space where they can be their best and find their strength that’s within them,” she adds. .

“I hope, like any business, to build social capital in our community and create another reason for people to come to Rushville,” Graham continues.

“Maybe after a workout they stop at the grocery store to get their milk and cheese, maybe they make an appointment to get a haircut, maybe “They’re having a latte when they’re done with their yoga class. That’s more people, that’s more foot traffic, and that’s more money in our economy,” adds Graham.

Timberline Health and Fitness will offer a cardio room, weight machines, free weights and a few specialty classes for members to use. Some services are still in the works and will be added in the near future.

The gym will be open from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. Members will be able to use an entry system that will give them access through three different routes.

Members will be able to enter a key code, they can also use a key to scan themselves in the door, or can use their mobile phone to scan the entrance. Membership options include annual and monthly prices.

The monthly rate is $30 per month. For annual subscriptions, Graham is offering a discount if you sign up before January 15.

The rate for a single person is $300 and $600 for couples at the special rate. After January 15, it will be $330 for an individual and $650 for a couple annually.

To register, those interested can call or text Hannah on her cell phone at (308) 207-5071.

There is also a Facebook page available under the name Timberline Health and Fitness which will be used to share relevant information in the future.

“These little towns like Rushville are such a beautiful, beautiful presence, but we have to fight for them. We have to push and support each other and create the resources that we want to have,” Graham says.
