Member of the week: Fairfield Inn by Marriott Owensboro

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott has graced the south end of Frederica Street since 1997. The property has 97 rooms and underwent extensive renovations in 2015 to assume the title of “Modern, Superior Franchised Hotel.”

The hotel offers spacious rooms equipped with a flat-screen TV, a mobile desk and high-speed internet connection. The property also features an indoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, business center, free hot breakfast, 24-hour coffee bar. 24 and an outdoor patio with a fireplace and a grill.

“The hotel is designed to accommodate both business and leisure travelers,” said General Manager Alisabeth Douglas. “These rooms cater for all types of guests and offer maximum comfort during their travels.”

The hostel strives to promote Owensboro in several ways. They are also partnering with several local organizations, including Kentucky Wesleyan College and the Visitor’s Bureau, to maximize the hotel’s impact on Owensboro.

“Our staff know all about Owensboro and encourage all guests to visit local restaurants and museums and immerse themselves in the history of our city,” said Douglas. “We are working with other hotel properties in our area to maximize the benefits our community experiences from these out-of-state guests. Although we work in different organizations, we all work towards similar goals.

Douglas said several staff members had been with the property for many years.

“Linda Vincent, a full time night checker, has been on the property for over seven years and she is truly a vital part of our operation,” she said. “We have many staff members who have devoted years of exceptional service to ensuring the success of the property.

The Fairfield Inn by Marriott aims to make its hotel “a home away from home” for all guests. This message is attested by the many visitors who repeat themselves as guests.

“Long after our guests have left, they leave a lasting impression,” said Douglas. “We take every opportunity to learn from them in the same way they hope to learn from us. “
