The popular wellness program series Wednesday returns to the Hopkins County YMCA in January, with a focus on mental health.
Since January 5th, the YMCA has partnered with Lighthouse Counseling Services Inc. to deliver the most professional and informative program to anyone who wishes to attend. According to YMCA Director of Community Health Angela Carter, one of the YMCA’s goals in 2022 is to focus on the overall well-being of its members and individuals in our community. Just as exercise and physical activity help our bodies, mental fitness also helps individuals achieve and maintain general well-being.
“We know this is the time of year when a lot of people are setting new goals, usually a physical goal, and while we don’t want to discourage that, we want to remind everyone that the Y is here. to help promote all components. wellness, ”Angela Carter, director of community health for the YMCA of Hopkins County. “We want to make sure that members of our community have the appropriate resources and opportunities to achieve optimal health at every stage of life. “
This is a series of three free sessions open to members and non-members, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The focus on January 5 will be on positive ways to cope with stress by incorporating exercise. January 19 will focus on the importance of personal care, and January 26 will focus on mental health resources in our community. The January 12 time slot is still being decided.
