Brie Larson shared a preview of her intense workout “The Marvels”

Brie Larson last appeared onscreen in the MCU during a mid-credits scene last year Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, but it’s been almost three years since she first fell to Earth in her independent film Captain marvel. She is currently working hard to train for the sequel to this movie, Wonders, which is due out in 2023 and will reunite her character Carol Danvers with Maria Rambeau and Kamala Khan.

In a recent video on her Instagram, Larson shared a brief look at how she’s shaping up as a superhero for her next MCU adventure. Encouraged by her personal trainer, Jason Walsh, she can be seen performing a series of five neutral-grip pull-ups that go directly into the knee pads; a great exercise that will not only work your upper body and strengthen your back, but also target your abs and test your core.

As Larson demonstrates in the short clip, in order to get the most out of the hanging knee portion of the exercise, it is important not to stop the movement when your legs are at a right angle to the body; instead, you need to continue this upward movement until your legs are called as far as possible.

“This ensures that we are not just moving at the level of our hips, but that our abs are directing the movement,” explains Men’s health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel CSCS “It’s because our abs are creating all this flexing of the spine and all this rounding – we create that and we manage that as we do the movement.”
