London: Mikel Arteta has revealed that several members of his Arsenal squad are still battling a virus ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Leicester.

The virus ruled out defender Pablo Mari from Tuesday’s League Cup game against Leeds and Arteta confirmed the same issue forced center-back Ben White to leave early.

England international White, who joined Arsenal in July for £ 50million ($ 69million), has not trained since and other players could miss the game at King Power Stadium.

“It was kind of sickness, stomach aches and stuff like that. I hope everyone’s okay,” Arsenal manager Arteta said in his pre-match press conference on Friday. .

“He (White) hasn’t trained yet so we’ll have to wait and see how he feels and make the decision then.

“A few couldn’t train and we also took a few hits in the game against Leeds. Hopefully we will have better news.”

Arteta’s men have recovered from their worst league start in 67 years and have eight games unbeaten in all competitions.

The Gunners are 10th in the table with 14 points from nine Premier League games, behind Leicester, ninth on goal difference.
